Anna Catherine & Jackson
History, charm, cobblestone, and a kitty! Shooting in Chucktown is already a dream, and then I get to work with people like this. My job is awesome. Anna Catherine and Jackson met at summer camp as kids. Years later they somehow both ended up in Charleston for college, and as it turns out, also ended up with a little romance. <3
In her spare time Ann Catherine works for the Charleston Historical Society, so when we were planning their shoot I asked her where she thought we should go. First she took us to this adorable side street with one of those quaint Holy City churches at the end, and some of the last fall leaves of the season (it's The South, so even in December we've got warm sunshine and lush greenery). After that we went over to Chalmers Street in the French Quarter, visiting the oldest building in Charleston, the Pink House. This house is also found on Wikipedia's list of the oldest buildings in the United States.
When we were shooting on the gorgeous cobblestone street just down from the Pink House, a little neighborhood kitty came over and joined our session. Seriously. Could Charleston get any more charming? Well, probably. We did have a horse drawn carriage pass by us at one point...
Big thank you to Lori+Lulu for styling Anna Catherine's outfits for their session! Lori named her shop after her dog... My kind of people!
