The Wilt Family! I can't begin to tell you how happy it made me to shoot this gorgeous family, but I'm certainly going to try. I met Amy and Dan FIFTEEN years ago (YIKES!) when I attended boarding school in Connecticut. Dan was easily one of the nicest guys around campus, but it took until after they graduated for Amy to finally give in to Dan's efforts of courtship. Not only are they now married (their ceremony was on our school's campus), they just welcomed their third little one into the world, Amelia. The first two kiddos are actually twins (!), Cora and Gunnar, and Amelia will have to do her best to keep up with those two, for sure. She's sporting a unbearably cute curl mohawk, so I think she's already on the right track.
For a couple years now Amy and I have messaged back and forth, hoping to at some point end up in the same city for at least an afternoon, so we could get some pictures of their growing family. After many missed connections, the session took a back burner to my schedule... however, thanks to the power of social media, Amy saw that I was in Charleston, and messaged me. YES OF COURSE I CAN STOP BY ON MY WAY HOME! I drive just by them nearly every time I go to South Carolina, so spending an afternoon there would be easy (and a welcome break in my drive).
Thank you Amy & Dan for welcoming me into your home, and adventuring around Jacksonville to find some perfect photo spots for a tricky day of weather, and braving the wildlife (Amy was NOT kidding when she said there was a lot of nature in her neighborhood... we saw an alligator, a snake, and a giant leatherback turtle). We even got to get a couple shots with their first child, Sloan, just before it started to pour. You guys are the best, and almost as sweet as your three munchkins. <3
